Common Dental Emergencies

Knocked Out Tooth

Make sure you recover the tooth. Place the tooth back in its socket and bite down with a gauze. If the tooth is unable to be placed back in the socket, put the tooth in a cup with enough saliva or milk to cover the tooth.

Toothache

Use warm salt water to rinse the mouth of any remaining food particles. For temporary relief, use a cold compress and DO NOT use aspirin to alleviate the pain.

Broken Wire or Braces

If wire is lodged in the gums or teeth, DO NOT remove it. Visit us immediately.

Possibly Broken Jaw

Keep the jaw closed with a towel. Visit us ASAP.

Canker Sores

It is recommended that over-the-counter medication can treat canker sores, but if they become persistent consult your dentist.
